Klamath River fish2009 Restore the Klamath Wall Calendar

This professionally designed calendar will use high quality art and imagery from the Basin's top photographers, artists, recreationalists, and businesses to inform and inspire consumers about restoring the Klamath River. Klamath Riverkeeper is dedicated to using this fundraising opportunity to support and advertise small businesses in the Klamath area, as well as the larger retailers whose target markets need healthy rivers to fish and play on. We believe businesses and nonprofits can - and should - work together to restore the river that supports our economy.

Our target distribution date is July-August 2008 for calendars to be sold in Portland, the Bay Area, Arcata, Eureka, Somes Bar, Klamath Falls, Ashland, Medford, Newport, and Eugene. The calendar will be printed on the same paper as our newsletter, 100% post-consumer recycled Sakura paper that makes pictures look gorgeous.

Deadline for business and artist submissions is June 15th, 2008.
All donations are tax-deductible.

Info for businesses and interest groups:
You can support the calendar in one of three ways:
1. For $40 we will feature your business's logo on the calendar, our newsletter, and our website as a sponsor.
2. For $200 you can underwrite the month of your choice with a photograph from your business. We expect monthly underwriters to supply a high quality graphic, their logo and business information, and a personal statement about why they value the Klamath, which we will edit and feature as a quote accompanying the graphic.
3. For $1000, your business will be listed as a $1,000 Tributary member of Klamath Riverkeeper, which is our highest membership level. You will also get to underwrite the month of your choice and we will feature your logo on every calendar page. You will also be enthusiastically welcomed aboard our Riverkeeper raft!!

Info for artists and photographers:
We are open for submissions of high quality work accompanied by artist statements about how your work relates to the Klamath River. This is an awesome way to get your work and contact information out to a large audience while supporting the Klamath.

Info for retailers:
While we are undertaking this project as a fundraiser to support our nonprofit restoration and advocacy work, we want to make every effort to ensure the project is mutually beneficial for everyone involved. While most retailers will be able to sell these at cost as a fundraiser for us, we understand that others may need to work out different arrangements. Let's talk!

Why support Klamath Riverkeeper?
This is a critical time to hop aboard the movement to Un-Dam the Klamath River. Never before have we been so close to achieving the largest dam removal in the history of the world: the four lower mainstem dams that block salmon from half the Klamath. With conservation groups, farmers and ranchers, small towns, commercial and sport fishermen, and all four Klamath Native Tribes agreeing on dam removal - and more grassroots momentum building every day - success is imminent.

First though, there's a lot of work to do. Klamath Riverkeeper knows it will take "endless pressure, endlessly applied" to achieve this goal. We've already won a toxic algae lawsuit against the US EPA resulting in new legislation making it harder to re-license the Klamath dams, and our coalition has several lawsuits against PacifiCorp pending. We continue to make headlines around the world for our grassroots actions at PacifiCorp and Warren Buffett's corporate headquarters, while our action alerts and outreach events engage citizens from Astoria, Oregon to Arcata, California.
